Jar of 250 gr.
Milk caramel Havanna is a typical Argentinean artisan sweet that is elaborated in a traditional way from water, sugar, whole milk powder, glucose syrup, skimmed milk powder and natural vanilla aroma. In its elaboration only milk is caramelized through a thermal process, without any use of artificial thickeners. Havanna makes its irresistible artisanal sweets from 1946 in the Argentinean town of Mar de Plata.
Milk caramel Havanna, also known as white manjar, arequipe, fudge or milk confiture depending on its origin, is an ideal South American sweet to taste alone, in bread with butter or as an accompaniment to multiple confectionary elaborations. It is remarkable its harmony with desserts and traditional sweets such as alfajores, pancakes, tarts, millefeuille, ice cream or waffles. Desserts accompanied by milk caramel make an excellent pairing with sweet and generous wines of Pedro Ximenez grape. In the same way it admits of good grade pairings with muscatel grapes or white malvasia, without forgetting that they also make a good counterpoint with cavas and champagnes. Nutritionally, milk caramel Havanna presents both carbohydrates and good quality proteins from milk, as well as calcium. It should be consumed in moderation and is not recommended for overweight people. A soup spoon equals about 60 calories.
