With a unique climate, a temperate Mediterranean with an Atlantic influence, and a unique terroir with a thousand-year-old tradition, Monterrei wines are produced naturally, with the greatest respect for the environment, to offer the highest quality and a marked personality.

Silva Daponte Godello is a wine made with grapes of the Godello variety harvested in the Vilardevós vineyard of the Monterrei Valley in the month of September. It is hosted by the D.O.P Monterrei. Godello is a round grape of medium size and thick skin, which grows in small compact clusters, of standard maturation, medium acidity, with a high potential alcoholic strength and a yellow-amber color. Godello wines are fruity with herbaceous notes, medium acidity, very glyceric, with a good alcoholic load, unctuous and round.

Silva Daponte Godello is a limpid and bright lemon yellow wine with greenish flashes. Medium aromatic intensity with notes of white fruits (acerola, apple, pear) and hints of the countryside such as grass, boxwood, fennel and sage. It is a harmonious and balanced wine, full of nuances with a long and fresh finish on the palate.

Bodegas Chaves

Bodegas Chaves is located in Ribadumia, Pontevedra. At the westernmost end of the Celtic corridor of the Atlantic, in the lands of Galicia, José Chaves Chaves founded the Chaves winery in 1955, with the same name for its wines. From father to son, continuity was guaranteed, and the generational change promoted the dream first, bringing vigor and drive to an increasingly stimulating and dynamic project.

In 1986, the winery was one of the first to market wines protected under the name “Vinos de la Tierra” guaranteeing the origin of the Albariño del Salnés. After this experience, they actively participated in the creation of the renowned Rías Baixas Designation of Origin, proud to be the 2nd winery in order of registration. Today, the journey continues. They know that achieving success is possible, committed to their work and know-how in favor of clients, to whom they want to present the best that a land like theirs is capable of creating.

The history of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin is deeply linked to the history of Bodegas Chaves. It was José Chaves who, in the eighties, together with other colleagues, communicated to the townspeople the potential of their land for planting vines whose fruit, the Albariña grape, had extraordinary organoleptic and wine-making properties. He, at that time in charge of Bodegas Chaves and together with 7 other wineries, began an informative work to gain strength in Europe and thus be able to create a Protected designation of origin.
